“Meta's net cash is negative two. It is 80 billion of cash and short turns and 82 billion of debt.”

Claim: Meta's cash and short-term investments roughly equal its debt, leaving net cash of about zero.

Evidence. Meta's 10-Q for the quarter to 30 Sep 2026 shows $11.2bn of cash and equivalents plus $71.2bn of marketable securities ($82.4bn), against $80.9bn of long-term debt and no short-term debt line. Net cash is about +$1.5bn, so his figures are swapped (cash about $82bn, debt about $81bn), but the point stands: Meta's net cash is roughly zero after its capex spending.

Responds to Chamath's 'Meta had negative 1.2 billion of cash' (26:22), which the same 10-Q also shows to be about zero rather than negative. Sign error noted, not penalised (Methodology rule 3).
