“What this shows you is that Microsoft's revenue went from 198 billion to 332 billion in the last four years, while staff only increased by 2000 people.”
Claim: Microsoft's revenue rose from $198bn to $332bn in four years while headcount rose by only about 2,000.
Evidence. Microsoft's FY2022 10-K reports revenue of $198.3bn and about 221,000 full-time employees; its FY2026 10-K reports about 223,000 full-time employees, and FY2026 revenue was $331.8bn. So revenue rose about 67% while headcount rose about 2,000.
Headcount was not flat in between: it rose to about 228,000 in FY2025 and fell 5,000 in FY2026. Microsoft offered voluntary buyouts to about 60,000 employees in Oct 2026, as he says. His conclusion that AI does not cause job loss is an opinion and not rated.
